Monday morning                                           Friar Lawrence’s cell                                     Characters: Friar Lawrence, Romeo

Friar Lawrence was out with his basket picking herbs for his potion, then Romeo comes along. Friar Lawrence thinks something is wrong with Romeo because he is up so early or hasn’t gone to bed yet. He is right Romeo hasn’t gone to bed cause he has been with Juliet all night. Romeo explains his love for Juliet to the Friar, and asks him if he is willing to marry them later that day. Friar Lawrence is surprised how fast he has moved on from Rosaline to Juliet. But he agrees to marry them, because he is hoping that it will stop the fighting between the Capulets and the Montagues, and bring the two families closer together.

Quote; With Rosaline, my ghostly father? no; I have forgot that name, and that name’s woe.
